Belgium: WW2 Medal for the War Volunteers of
the Belgian Armed Forces.
With bar "Coree- Korea" for the Volunteers of
the Korean War - a very rare clasp, in French
and Flemish language.
The bar was awarded to recipients of the medal
(hence WW2 veterans) who also participated in
the Korean War 1950-53.
This is the rare initial type of the medal, dated
1940 - 1945 on the reverse and featuring a
soldier with background the letter "V" for
"Victory" on the obverse.
The Medal was instituted in 1945 and it was
awarded to those who served during WW2.
Prerequisite for the award was service "For
the Duration of the War"
Only 3500 medals were awarded in total and very
few of those awards were presented to veterans
of both WW2 and the Korean War.
