Belgium: WW2 Medal of Merit for Explosive
Ordnance Disposal, 1940 1945.
On the obverse: The image of a falling bomb.
On the reverse: Inscribed "Demining Belgium,
1940-1945", in French and Flemish.
The medal was established in 1962 by the
Belgian Royal Association of Explosive
Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians and
was awarded to the members of the EOD
Service of the Belgian Army, who were
actively involved in the bomb and mine
clearing of Belgium following the end of
WW2.
The medal is scarce as the strength of the
EOD Service never exceeded the 300 men.
