Serbia: WW1 Commemorative and Liberation
Medal for participation in the Great War.
With its numbered diploma of issue, dated 1930,
to a man of the French 14th Battalion of Artillery
Workers.
The diploma is glued on the paper cover of a
frame and the medal is stitched on the diploma.
The Medal was instituted in 1920 and was
awarded to Serbian and Montenegrin military
personnel who had participated in WW1 and
also to members of the Allied forces who had
contributed to the liberation of Serbia (mainly
members of the Army of the East).
The medals were produced by Arthus Bertrand
in France and by Huguenin Freres in Switzerland.
