Specification
Iran (Persian Empire): Coronation Medal of 
Mohammad Reza Shah (King) Pahlavi and 
Shahbanou (Queen) Farah Diba with bronze 
Imperial crown device.
On the obverse: The portraits of the Shah and 
Shahbanou.
On the reverse: Inscribed in Farsi "In Comme-
moration of Pahlavi Coronation", 
Dated "26 October 1346 (AD 1967".
Mohammad Reza Pahlavi ascended to the 
throne on 26 Sep. 1941 following the Anglo-
Soviet invasion of Persia and the forced 
abdication of his father, Reza Shah. His official 
coronation though, took place on 26 Oct. 1967. 
Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was the last Shah of 
Persia - his reign ended on 11 Feb. 1979 
following the Iranian Revolution. He died in 
Cairo on 27 Jul. 1980. 
The medal is scarce.
