JAPAN - Manchukuo State (Japanese Puppet 
State): WW2 "Border or Nomonhan Incident" 
Commemorative Medal. 
The medal was awarded to the Japanese Forces
that participated in the operations against the 
Soviet Red Army on the Russian - Manchurian 
borderline, near the village of Nomonhan, during 
the summer of 1939 (also known as the Battle of 
Khalkhin Gol). 
The Red Army, under the command of Lt. General 
(later Marshal and 4 times Hero of the USSR) 
Georgy Zhukov scored a decisive victory. 
The medal is very rare.
