JAPAN: WW2 China Incident Medal for the 2nd 
Sino-Japanese War, 1937-1945.
In its box of issue, together with the respective
diploma to Munetoshi Miyazaki, Artillery Sergeant 
of the Imperial Japanese Army. 
The medal was instituted in 1939.
Following its institution the medal was awarded 
in advance (awarded at the departure) to troops 
leaving Japan to participate in the Campaign in 
China (1937 - 1945). 
Since officially the War between China and Japan 
was never declared, the Japanese refer to the 
hostilities as the "China Incident". 
The medal was amended in 1944 and was finally 
abolished in 1946.
