HUNGARY: Order of Vitez (Order of the Brave) 
bravery breast badge. 
Rare type, without sword, issued to members of 
the National Guard.
Maker marked: Morzsany J. Budapest Esku Ut.5
The Order was established in 1920 by Admiral 
Horthy and it was the 1st purely Hungarian 
Order after the Separation of Hungary from the 
Austro-Hungarian Empire following the end of 
WW1. 
The Order was discontinued after the end of 
WW2. 
Only 23.800 medals (with and without swords) 
were ever awarded and only a few of them were 
issued without swords.
A scarce original example of a heavily copied 
award.
