(Private Joseph Edward Cadic, King Edward's 
Horse (The King's Overseas Dominions Reg.)
Private Cadic was enlisted in 17 May 1915 and 
was discharged in 16 Jul. 1918, probably due 
to injury.
The Regiment was originally formed as part of 
the Imperial Yeomanry in November 1901, as 
the 4th County of London Imperial Yeomanry 
(King's Colonials), with the Prince of Wales 
(later King George V) as honorary colonel. 
During WW1 it was composed of 5 squadrons 
of colonial volunteers (Asians, Canadians, 
Australians, N. Zealanders and South Africans-
Rhodesians. 
King Edward's Horse saw action on the 
Western Front and on the Italian Front. 
It was disbanded in Mar. 1924.
The medals of the King Edward's Horse are 
rarely seen in the market.
