GREAT BRITAIN: Silver Imperial Service Medal - 
Queen Elizabeth II, 2nd type, since 1954.
Attributed to: Miss Barbara Edith Hale - the 
medals awarded to women are rarely found
compared to those awarded to men.
In its box of issue, by the Royal Mint.
This is the 2nd type of the medal with the 
head of Queen Elizabeth II, issued since 1954. 
With the inscription:
 ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D.
The medal was instituted by King Edward VII, 
in 1902. It was awarded to civil servants who 
completed, upon their retirement, at least 25 
years of long and meritorious service, across 
the Empire.
