Imperial Germany - Prussia: Group photo of a Machine gun Element 
of the German Army. All the men have their spiked helmets on - all of 
them with the front plate of the Prussian Army. 
The machine gun is the Maxim MG-08. There are visible cartridge 
boxes for the MG as well as its horse carriage. Note the soldier at the 
left with the new, at the time, Luger Parabellum P08. 
Those are rarely seen in photos. According to the shoulder insignia 
of the men (and the handwritten description on the reverse of the photo), 
they are men of the Machine Gun Company of the 31st Infantry 
Regiment "Graf Bose" (1st of Thuringia). 
The IR 31 was stationed in Hamburg - Altona.
