Imperial Germany - Kingdom of Prussia: Badge for the Jubilee of the
5th Westphalian Infantry Regiment Nr. 53
Issued in 1910 to mark the 50 years since the formation of the Regiment,
in 1860.
On the obverse Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm and Princess Victoria,
Adolf of Schaumbrun Lippe, Chiefs of the Regiment during the Years
1864-1888 .
On the reverse: The Prussian Crown.
Signed by F. Hoffstatteer in Bonn.
The Regiment took part in the 2nd Schleswig Holstein War (1864),
the German Civil (1866) and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870.
During the Great War it participated in the battles of Namur, St. Quentin,
Arras, Verdun, Aisne, Champagne, Somme, Marne and Chemin des
Dames.
