Germany - Prussia & Bavaria: Honorary Union of
the German WW1 Veterans, War Cross of Honor
with Swords, 1914 1918.
The Honorary Union of the German WW1 Veterans
was established in 1924, in Munich.
Grandmaster of the Union was the Prussian Major
General Grunert.
The Cross was instituted in 1925 and was issued
either with Swords (for Combatants) or without
Swords (for non Combatants and Auxiliary
Services).
Just like the majority of the Weimar Republic era
Decorations, the Union only provided the diploma
of the award. The recipient had to purchase and
pay for the Cross himself.
Maker of the cross was the firm of Leopold Lerch
in Munich.
The Cross is rare.
