Product Information
Specification
Imperial Germany - Bavaria: King Ludwig's
Cross for voluntary participation in WW1.
With its diploma of issue to a Male Nurse
of the 2nd Bavarian Reserve Field Hospital.
The cross was instituted by King Ludwig III,
in 1916 to be awarded for meritorious and
voluntary services to the Army and the
Country, during the ongoing War.
Initially it was produced in blackened iron,
but as the result of the reservation of the
strategic materials for the war effort, the
iron was replaced by bronze and soon by
zinc.
This is a bronze made example.
