FRANCE: Trench art, WW1 era, patriotic inkwell 
presenting General Ferdinand Foch - Marshal of 
France and Commander in Chief of the Allied 
Armies. 
With the coat of Arms of Paris on the base.
Marshal Foch is considered by the French as the 
"Father of Victory".
The inkwell is numbered (#504) and signed by the 
French sculptor Carlier (Emile Nestor Joseph 
Carlier, 3 Jan.1849 – 11 Apr. 1927).
A rare example of patriotic trench art.
Dimensions: 16.5cm x 10.5cm, height: 17.5cm
