FRANCE: Paper weight - inkwell in the form of the
post WW1 French Chatellerault FM1924/29
Machine Gun, placed on an altar guarded by
the heads of 2 soldiers wearing the Adrian helmet.
There is visible a dedication sign on it that relates
the item to Camp du Ruchard, which was the base
of the Infantry Units of the 9th Army Corps from
1884 to 1945.
Probably a gift to an officer. Such gifts were
representative and typical of the interwar period.

Underneath the base, the diorama is maker
marked (Richer, Paris), marked "Depose" (for
patented design) and "Made in France" (the logo
is in use since the end of WW1).
