FINLAND: Finnish Red Cross Bronze Medal of 
Merit. 
On the obverse: "Inter Arma Caritas " (Latin: 
Mercy/Charity in Times of War)
On the reverse: "Finnish Red Cross" in Finnish 
and Swedish.
The Finnish Red Cross was established in 1877 
in order to provide relief to the sick and wounded 
members of the Finnish Guard during/following 
the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878. 
The Red Cross decorations were instituted in 
1931 and were awarded for meritorious service. 
This is an early example of the WW2 period 
(Winter War and War of Continuation vs USSR).
The medal is rare.
