The Order was established by King Norodom I,
in 1864, to be awarded for outstanding military
and/or civil services.
It was awarded with different ribbons for the
French and the Cambodians.
The Knight's Star was awarded to Officers and
Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) for a
minimum of 10 years distinguished service in
Cambodia.
This example was issued to Cambodians.
