The Highland Light Infantry (HLI) -  a light infantry 
regiment of the British Army was formed in 1881. 
It took part in the Anglo-Egyptian War (1882), the 
2nd Boer War), WW1 and WW2. 
The HLI was amalgamated with the Royal Scots 
Fusiliers in 1959 to form the Royal Highland 
Fusiliers (Princess Margaret's Own Glasgow and 
Ayrshire Regiment).
