Note the relatively low number of the medal.
The Queen's South Africa Medal was instituted by 
Queen Victoria in 1900 & was awarded to military 
personnel, war correspondents & civilian officials 
who served in South Africa during the 2nd Boer 
War from 11 Oct. 1899 to 31 May 1902.
