Fortitudini (Latin: Bravery) medal of the period  
1917 -1918.
This is the 1st Class of the award. 
Marked on the rim - illegible mark ("A") for 
silver of the Vienna Mint). 
Issued during the last stages of WW1 (1917- 
1918) by Kaiser Karl - the last Emperor of 
Austria-Hungary.  
A bravery award of the Great War. 
Signed and designed by Kautsch.
The medal is a lot rarer than the respective 
"Tapferkeit" medal of Kaiser Franz Joseph.
