Badge of the Polish Legion (Polish Volunteers).
Featuring Crossed Swords, the Coat of Arms 
of the Polish National Government (Polish–
Lithuanian–Ruthenian Commonwealth of the 
January Uprising, 1863-64) and the Iron Cross 
with white bordure.
The January Uprising was an insurrection for the 
Independence of the Poland from Russia. It began 
on Jan. 1863 and was suppressed by the Russian 
forces in 1864.
