Maker marked: Bildhauer Gurschner, Vienna,

The Mackensen Army Group of the Imperial 
German Army was formed in 1915. It operated 
initially in Poland and then in Sep. 1915 took 
part in the invasion of Serbia - Field Marshal 
August von Mackensen was the supreme 
commander of the invading Joint Forces of 
Germany, Austria-Hungary, Germany and 
Bulgaria.  
By the end of Jan. 1916 Serbia, Montenegro 
and the largest part of Albania were in the 
hands of the Central Powers.
