Badge for the occupation of Mount Lovcen, on 10 
Jan.  1916, during the Montenegrin Campaign. 
Issued by the "KuK Military-General Government 
of Montenegro”. 
Signed by G. Gurschner in Vienna.
The WW1 Montenegrin Campaign (05 - 17 Jan. 
1916), was a part of the Serbian Campaign, in 
which Austria-Hungary defeated and occupied 
the Kingdom of Montenegro, an ally of Serbia.
Two Austrian Army Corps were involved in the 
Campaign. 
The XIX Armeekorps under the command of 
General Stjepan Sarkotic was tasked to attack 
the main body of the Montenegrin army, gathered 
around Mount Lovcen while the VIII Armeekorps 
under the command of General Hermann Kovess 
von Kovesshaza) was tasked to attack the 
Montenegrin troops in the Eastern and Northern 
part of the Country. 
A scarce cap badge.
